Background

Facebook is a social media platform and technology company founded by Mark Zuckerberg and his college roommates in 2004. It allows users to connect with friends and family, share updates, photos, videos, and other content, and engage with communities and businesses. Facebook has grown to become one of the largest and most influential social networking platforms globally, with billions of users and a wide range of features and services.

Key Features and Components of Facebook:

  1. Profiles: Users create personal profiles on Facebook, where they can share information about themselves, such as their name, age, location, education, work, interests, and more. Profiles serve as the user's identity on the platform.
  2. News Feed: The News Feed is the central feature of Facebook, where users see updates, posts, photos, videos, and other content shared by their friends, pages they follow, and groups they're a part of. The News Feed is personalized based on the user's interests, interactions, and connections.
  3. Friends: Users can connect with friends on Facebook by sending and accepting friend requests. Once connected, users can see each other's posts, photos, and updates in their News Feed, interact with each other through comments and likes, and communicate via private messages.
  4. Pages: Pages on Facebook are created by businesses, organizations, public figures, and brands to represent their identity and engage with their audience. Pages can share updates, promote events, run ads, and interact with followers.
  5. Groups: Groups on Facebook are communities where users with common interests, hobbies, or affiliations can come together to discuss topics, share content, and connect with like-minded individuals. Groups can be public, private, or secret, with varying levels of visibility and access.
  6. Events: Facebook Events allow users to create, discover, and RSVP to events happening in their local area or within their social network. Events can be public or private, and users can invite friends, share event details, and receive notifications about upcoming events.
  7. Messenger: Messenger is Facebook's messaging app, integrated with the main Facebook platform. It allows users to send text messages, voice messages, photos, videos, and stickers to their friends and contacts. Messenger also supports voice and video calls, group chats, and various interactive features.
  8. Marketplace: Facebook Marketplace is a platform for buying and selling goods and services locally. Users can browse listings, search for items, communicate with sellers, and arrange transactions directly within the Facebook platform.
  9. Watch: Facebook Watch is a video-on-demand service within the Facebook platform, where users can discover, watch, and engage with a wide range of original shows, videos, and live broadcasts created by creators, publishers, and media companies.
  10. Advertising: Facebook offers advertising solutions for businesses and marketers to promote their products, services, and content to a targeted audience. Advertisers can create ad campaigns, target specific demographics, interests, and behaviors, and track ad performance using Facebook's ad platform.

Common Use Cases for Facebook:

  • Social Networking: Users use Facebook to connect with friends and family, share updates and photos, and stay updated on each other's lives.
  • Community Engagement: Users join groups and communities on Facebook to discuss topics of interest, share knowledge, and connect with others who share similar interests or hobbies.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the

"When inside of" nested selector

system.
